In addition to obtaining Intellectual Property rights for clients, Williams Powell has significant experience in litigation, both in England/the United Kingdom, in Europe and further afield.

All of our partners as well as our senior patent attorneys have a great deal of experience in European Patent Office opposition and appeal proceedings, having handled many dozens of cases over the years.  In addition, Robert Jehan is a qualified Patent Attorney Advocate and Litigator and regularly represents clients in litigation before the High Court as well as the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court.

Our Trade Mark practice handles many Trade Mark, passing off and designs disputes, as well as domain name litigation.

We have also successfully arranged the seizure of goods by our UK Customs authorities, a procedure which can be very effective and can lead to settlement of a dispute without having to embark on full scale litigation proceedings.

We are very conscious of the effect of litigation on our clients.  Litigation can very often fail to provide the commercial benefits sought.  It therefore has to be handled carefully and always having regard to the situations of the litigating parties and the issues of a case, which can change significantly during a dispute.
