The first graph covers a patent, a design registration and a trade mark (for either one class of goods, or 3) but only in the United Kingdom.

The second graph covers only patents but for different countries, including U.K., U.S.A. and Japan individually, and also for collective applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) covering five designations, or under European Patent Convention covering 19 countries.
